Mission Statement

Having been involved with communication of both the external and internal in several forms and medias ranging from fine art and installation to street performance and full blown theatre work for over 14 years I have gained a solid grounding and understanding within how we communicate and receive information both as individuals and as groups. Through this I have come to the conclusion that the ways most of these art forms are shown have a tendency to “talk to the converted” as it were. This in tern dictates who sees the work and who gets to show there work.
Leading on from this I decide to mix my experiences of mid eighties festivals and the traveller “do-it-yourself” attitude with my experience of theatre arts and performance. Initially these first experiments were similar to the “Mutoid waste Co”, “test dept” and the “welfare state international”. Later these forms of communication were linked with the the growing scene of 4/4 beat based experience. The space that was created within these raves was one of such openness, both internally and externally that it opened all sorts of possibilities in which to show both my own and others art that would not normally be given, creating a space to shown our work to our peers. It basically gave us a gallery space without the usual difficulties associated with such spaces.
Over the years this experimentation has shown it’s self in many ways from 15ft puppets, u.v. shows, live performance, three day festivals, 16mm direct animation loops, strobeing slides, circus skills, community arts, v.j./d.j. workshops, theatre in education, fund raising for several charities and finally digital v.j.’ing.
The one thing that all this has shown me is the fact that you can do it for your self, that as an individual and as groups we can empower ourselves and create these “safe spaces” in which we as individuals can explore our understanding of the internal and external reality, if that is your wish or just kick back and enjoy the experience, getting a well deserved rest from reality
