VJ MANY-2 has been manipulating images since the dawn of time. His beginnings saw him as a video game teacher at the NAD centre and as a project director for Neurovolt and for Cinegroupe Interactive. His introduction to the rave scene came with his collaboration with VJ Anyone, now based in London. With a strong knowledge in real-time video mixing and a vast experience in 3d computer graphics and video, Many-2 exploits the rhythm by fusing with the DJ like a visual implant. His performances concentrate on the mechanic and graphic aspects of the visuals, giving its audience the right and choice of interpretation. He is now collaborating to the development of a VJing software visualJockey R3 , and is also helping to build a hardware VJing console based on it with Green Hippo. The Black Box project was a huge success. Yan Breuleux's visuals and Alain Thibault's music were both played live, and each of the 3 performances was different from the previous one, exploring new areas of sound and music spatialization. Using visualJockey R3.5, a Hippotizer console, 3 computers and a MIDI keyboard I had to design a system to play visuals live on 4 connecting screens. The system is quite complex but is really easy to use : it takes seconds to learn how to use it but a lifetime to master it ! The whole design process took months to design and prototype and each step was documented, that's why Yan Breuleux and myself are thinking about presenting an official project report this summer, more on that subject soon. This would have been the second time I play for the World Film Festival, having done something similar 2 years ago for an event called "15.minutes". Theme for the event : fusion.
