Hi this is VideoJ Laura, i am from Bogotá-Colombia, i was born the 21th of june 1978, i just finished university and now am looking forward, moving to amsterdam. I've been working with video and video installation for about 5 years, you can see photos from installations in my gallery. I just finished my last proyect: Ajna's Journeys... the theme of this proyect is Landscapes in Videogames; it's an installation which consists of a white cube form that the viewer enters. Each side of the cube is a screen, with an independent proyection. When the viewer enters the cube there's a platform in the middle of the space with 4 ultrasound sensors which are controlled by the movement of the hands up and down on top of the sensors. The movement of the hands basically control the speed of the video and a real time mixing from the clips of each screen, well it's hard to explain in english cause my native lenguaje is spanish...
I've been working like a vj for almost 3 years, and i have found this way like an alternative for museum, i have to say i hate them, and just love the amazing exerience of showing my work to a multitude of people which have there heads and sensibility exalted by the moment that is behind each party...each drug...
